Expanded coverage and new viewing platforms highlight five-year agreement

EUGENE, OR – May 30, 2019 – RunnerSpace, the leading digital media company in track & field and running, today announced a five-year partnership extension with Athletics Canada, expanding event coverage and providing fans new ways to consume content both live and on-demand through the AthleticsCanada.tv platform. The agreement covers two IAAF World Championship years (2019 and 2021) and two Olympic years (2020 and 2024) and will give Canadian athletes unprecedented visibility when they compete domestically.

Beginning with the British Columbia Provincial High School Championships this weekend, fans can sign up for a RunnerSpace +PLUS subscription, with full access to live and on-demand coverage of top events year-round on AthleticsCanada.tv. The schedule is highlighted by expanded coverage of the 2019 Canadian Track and Field Championships, which serves as the qualification meet for the 2019 IAAF World Championship in Doha, Qatar this September.

“We are extremely proud of what we have built together over the last four years and are very excited to see what the next five years will bring as our coverage and ways to watch expand in the Olympic & World Championship lead-ups,” said RunnerSpace founder and CEO Ross Krempley.

In addition to the live events exclusive to the Athletics Canada agreement, the subscription service will also provide customers access to more than 100 live events annually across the RunnerSpace +PLUS network in Canada, the United States and Great Britain. Beginning this summer, the service will expand to AppleTV, iOS, Android, Roku and FireTV, giving subscribers unprecedented flexibility to consume live and on-demand coverage where and when they want.

“Athletics Canada is thrilled to partner with RunnerSpace to continue delivering outstanding content to athletics fans in Canada and around the world,” said David Bedford, Athletics Canada Chief Executive Officer. “We’re particularly thrilled with the upcoming launch of new distribution channels via Apple TV, Roku, iOS and Android, providing RunnerSpace +PLUS subscribers unparalleled content from AthleticsCanada.tv, USATF.TV, VINCO and a host of North America’s most prominent track and field events.”

Subscriptions to AthleticsCanada.tv range from $12.99/month to $8.33/month USD. Current members of Athletics Canada enjoy an exclusive discount of 10% off.

The on demand video of the BOYS NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIP 4K XC - ONTARIO OFSAA CROSS COUNTRY PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIPS 2023 starts 2:32 into the race, therefore cutting off the race start. Can this be fixed?

I had two children competing in field events and never saw them. And what's with the track camera only following the leaders, couldn't a second camera follow the rest of the runners for those parents to see their children running too. All competitors have worked very hard to get to OFSAA in their various events and deserved a moment in the spotlight.
