(Eugene, Oregon) – Historic Hayward Field is now the site of another historic event for the sport of track & field, as live 360-degree web-streaming coverage has been successfully launched at the 2017 Oregon Relays, the region’s largest high school invitational.

Athletic.net 360 powered by RunnerSpace launched Friday evening with dedicated coverage of the Oregon Relays' field events. Viewers can watch the live stream via virtual reality (VR) headsets, phone, tablet or desktop and see all the events in view of the dedicated 360-degree camera, fundamentally changing how a viewer can keep track of multiple events.

“This is the first phase of our athletic.net 360 plan,” notes RunnerSpace CEO Ross Krempley. “We are excited about the potential of VR/360 viewing in track & field, cross country and road racing. We have always wanted to find the perfect way to showcase more field events in our live track & field coverage, so our first phase will focus primarily on the jumps and throws."

As viewership of athletic.net 360 grows, additional VR elements, graphics and live streams will be incorporated. Athletic.net 360 will be rolled out at many of the more than 70 yearly live events during the 2017 season with the goal to make it a standard part of the yearly +PLUS programming efforts.
